It is a sad story but it took place in real life. Sanshar Toppo is 40 years old and his daughter is just 4. They were going to a place by a bus. Unfortunately, Sanshar Toppo did not have enough money for the bus fare. In fact, he was short of just 5 cent only (2 Indian Rupees). The conductor of the bus got angry and when he realized that the poor man did not have any more money, he pushed off him and his daughter. As a result, the father and the daughter died.
The other passengers and people present in that spot got angry and burnt the bus. The police arrested the conductor and the driver of the bus.
This is a tragic matter and it shows that life for millions of ordinary people in India is not rosy at all. You may read about outsourcing success stories or continuous high economic growth of India but don’t get too carried away. There is another side of the coin too and this sad story just reminded us of the reality once again.
