In the first set, Sania Mirza broke her opponent once, but lost her serve twice and eventually lost the first set. Though it was expected that Sania would bounce back in the second set, she could not find her rhythm back in the second set too, missing three breakpoints.
Sania Mirza is still active in doubles event of the tournament. Along with American partner Bethanie Mattek, Sania reached the quarter final of the tournament. The Indian star is yet to get her best form back since returning to court after missing out the whole clay court season with wrist injury.
