The ascendency of India as an economic world power

If you ask someone about the chance of team A against Team B, besides stating the fact that Team A was heavily beaten by Team B (by an innings and 239-runs) in just the previous match, then there is every possibility most people will bet on Team B. Well, you might have already understood the teams I am indicating are India and Sri Lanka.

After the humiliating defeat to Sri Lanka in the previous match, India has already found their back on the wall. Now, for India, it would be very hard to bounce back in the series as they might have already lost much of their confidence after the catastrophe they experienced in both of their innings in the first test. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will be full of confidence with their batsmen and spinners in prime form.

However, to tell the truth, I do not think that India has no chance in the second test, starting from 31 July. If Indian batsmen can show enough composure and remain focused, I think, they can stave off the challenge posed by Sri Lankan spinners. Indian bowlers, on the other hand, need to change their approach and a bit of luck to start winning momentum in the second test. At last, I can only say that Sri Lanka is favorite for the second test, but I will not write off India’s chances in the match.
