Hollywood Distribution Company Walt Disney has recently acquired the video right of Aamir Khan directed Taare Zameen Par, a movie based on a dyslexia boy, in U.S.A. It was the directorial debut for Aamir Khan and the movie was one of the big hits in Bollywood last year. The actor-turned director received lots of applaud for the movie, while Darsheel Safary, who played the role of the dyslexia boy, was overly praised for his excellent performance in the movie.

Walt Disney will release DVD of the movie with English sub-titles in America. This is the first time the home video right of a Bollywood movie was brought by a Hollywood distribution company. Walt Disney acquired the right for Rs.50 million, but Aamir Khan’s production house refused to confirm the figure. Aamir Khan Production and PVR Pictures jointly produced the movie. The DVD of Taare Zameen Par will be released in India by T-Series.
