The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Over the yeas, India has proven their spin maestro against great spinners from around the world. From Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar, Indian batsmen have been always comfortable against spin bowling. Seam bowlers and pacers were the main problem for the Indians. However, the situation seems to be changing now.

India has recently suffered a humiliating defeat to Sri Lanka at a good batting wicket in Colombo and the Sri Lankan spinners were the cause of the concern; not the pacers. With second test ahead of them, Indian batsmen are now busy making plans how to resist the Sri Lankan spinners in the second test.

Now, the question arises that if India’s spin prowess has come to end? Have their spin masters been out of order? Indian batsman Rahul Dravid thinks that Indian batsmen have been too much focused on pace bowling over the last few years, and thus it has started taking its toll from their spin ability. Here, it is necessary to note that India has seen considerable success against pace bowling over the last few years. For example, their performance was pretty successful in their last two tours to Australia.

Now, let us see if India can come back in the second test and Indian batsmen could manage to revive their dominating skill against spin bowling?
