The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Sri Lanka already scored 422 runs losing only four wickets thanks to three excellent centuries from top order batsmen. Third centurion Thilan Samaraweera is still batting on 111 along with Tillakaratne Dilshan batting on 20. With wicketkeeper batsman Prasanna Jayawardene yet to come out to bat, it is pretty sure that Sri Lanka can hold their hope high to pile on a huge total. Now, the question remains where Sri Lanka will stop in their first innings.

Some would say 500, some would say 600. Actually, at this situation it is apparent that Sri Lanka has hardly any chance to lose the match, but they will definitely try their best to put the visiting side under pressure. Two days of the test have already gone and I think, Sri Lanka might go for throwing a much bigger total for India with the intention of bowling India out twice without having to come to bat in the second innings. For that, Sri Lankan batsmen might look to score quickly tomorrow.
