PCB Says No to IPL Player Transfer

The second IPL auction of Indian Premier League (IPL) kicks off from February 2009. However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already decided that it would not get involved in the IPL player transfer. Last year, there were huge criticisms for PCB for being involved in IPL player transfer. Senior cricketer Shoaib Akhtar even accused former PCB chief Nasim Ashraf of taking commission for being involved in the IPL transfer. That is why, PCB is no more interested to be involved in IPL transfer.

IPL is one of the most popular cricket tournaments in South Asia, outside international cricket. Organized by BCCI, the tournament emerged with lots buzz last year and successfully organized its first Twenty20 tournament. IPL is a tournament where lots of money is involved and many people invested lots of money in the tournament. The success of the tournament in the long run is yet to be seen amidst global credit crunch.
