The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Cricket is the most popular sport in India and, besides Bollywood, cricket is one of the top two entertainment medium in the country. Many times in the past, cricket became the subject of bollywood movies and some bollywood stars are also involved in cricket too. For example, Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta are all involved in Indian Premier League cricket.

Another big-banner movie titled Dil Bole Hadippa, which is set to release on 18 September, is based on a cricket related story. Directed by Anurag Singh, the movie casts Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherji in the lead roles. The movie tells the story of a young girl who pretends to be a man in her attempt to get chance in a cricket team where al other players are male. The movie is produced by Aditya Chopra.
