The ascendency of India as an economic world power

Abertis Infraestructuras SA, a Spain based infrastructure company, is now looking to explore the potential foreign markets like US, China and India in an attempt to expand the company’s current operation. Chairman Salvador Alemany has revealed that the company is looking for growth, and as part of its expansion policy, it would go into the emerging markets like China and India, even though he admits that US is still the market leader in infrastructure field.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

"We would like to conduct some development tests," in China and India, Mr. Alemany said at a conference. The U.S., however, still represents "the world's greatest emerging market" in the global infrastructure arena.

Abertis, which operates toll roads, airports, parking and telecommunication infrastructure, generates most of its revenue in Spain and France.

Well, there is no doubt, Indian and Chinese economies are growing pretty fast and both the counties are considered to be emerging economies in Asia. So, it is natural that Abertis would look for some gain in China and India, alongside the US market.
